Reuse record year: 126 million NOK saved and more insights from 2025

Loopfront users have once again set new records for reuse in 2025, with impressive results! We have collected insights from reuse in the Loopfront platform over the past year, including overall savings in costs, CO2 and waste, and statistics on what types of products are most reused in 2025.

Approximately 95,000 objects have been reused in total in 2025!

In 2025, approximately 95,000 individual objects were reused in total. These objects have been reused in relocation projects, orders from storages and projects, purchases and sales on Loopfront's marketplace across organizations, and donations of surplus outside the organizations.

Top 10 most reused furniture and fixtures in 2025:

1. Shop fittings - 20,430 pcs (shop shelves, interior, signs, checkouts, etc.)
2. Chairs - 15,147 pcs (office chairs, conference chairs, meeting chairs, sofas, etc.)
3. Shelves and cabinets - 14,029 pcs (Shelves, racks, drawers, wardrobes, etc.)
4. Lighting - 2,816 pcs (ceiling lamps, floor lamps, table lamps, etc.)
5. Tables - 2,803 pcs (conference tables, canteen tables, coffee tables, etc.)
6. Desks - 2,691 pcs (static desks, raise / lower desks, work tables)
7. Carpets and textiles - 1,270 pcs (Curtains, carpets, floor mats, pillows, etc.)
8. ICT equipment - 1,113 pcs (PCs and accessories, monitors, TVs, etc...)
9. Acoustics - 1,031 pcs (Partitions, sound barriers, etc...)
10. Kitchen - 987 pcs (fridge freezer, ovens, microwave, coffee machine, etc...)

1. Prepared terrain - 6000 pcs (kerbstones, paving stones, slabs, etc.)
2. Decks - 3999 pcs (screen tiles, facade tiles, etc.)
3. System ceilings - 1551 pcs (ceiling panels, acoustic panels, etc.)
4. Exterior walls - 1140 pcs (load-bearing walls and other exterior walls)
5. Park and garden - 1079 pcs (benches, playgrounds, bicycle racks, etc.)
6. Plumbing installations - 836 pcs (water, heating, sanitation, ventilation)
7. Interior walls, windows and doors - 522 pcs  (system walls, doors, windows)
8. Lighting installations - 468 pcs (light equipment, outdoor lighting, emergency)
9. Floor surfaces - 409 pcs (floor coverings, parquet, tiles etc..)
10. Fire safety - 279 pcs (fire alarms and fire extinguishing)

Approx. NOK 126 million saved with reuse in 2025!

This year, our users have achieved a total cost savings of approx. NOK 126 million NOK through reuse. This is the saved value by avoiding the purchase of equivalent new products, which is more than twice the savings compared to 2024.

Examples of cost savings in 2025 from some of our customers:

• Halden Municipality Saves Over NOK 750,000 by Reusing Furniture in One Year
  
  
• Last summer, Asker Municipality decided to stop buying new office furniture, and so far this year they have saved over NOK 3.4 million on reusing.

Approx. 2250 tons of CO₂ saved by reusing in 2025
This year, our users have collectively avoided emissions of over two thousand tons of CO₂ equivalents by reusing. This is more than double the emissions reduction compared to last year. These figures are estimates of the CO₂ footprint of avoided production of equivalent new products. This year's total CO₂ savings correspond to:

• Production of 27,000 new mobile phones (estimate based on equivalent of 1 ton of CO₂)
  
  

• Annual emissions from approximately 1,100 fossil fuel vehicles  (estimate based on average emission from private vehicles)
  
  

• Construction of a 5 500 m² new office building (based on emissions per m² from material use and construction process
  

Loopfront automatically suggests CO₂ estimates for products, based on average EPDs and data for different categories of furniture, fixtures and building materials.

Examples of emissions savings some of our customers have achieved in 2025:

• Apotek 1 has saved over 122 tons of CO₂ by reusing store furnishings.
  
  
• Oslo Municipality has saved over 65 tons of CO₂ in 2025 by reusing furniture, fixtures and equipment through their internal marketplace in Loopfront.

Approx. 1250 tons of waste saved with reuse in 2025
Reuse with Loopfront has not only led to savings in costs and CO₂, but also a reduction of over a thousand tons of waste. This is almost double the amount of waste reduction compared to last year.

The amount of waste is calculated based on the estimated weight of products that have been reused in Loopfront instead of being thrown away. 1250 tons of waste corresponds to:

• Between 60–70 full 40 m³ containers of construction and demolition waste  (estimate based on max load wright on containers for heavy waste)
  
  
• Approx. 18% of all office furniture thrown in Norway each year (Source: klimaoslo.no)

Examples of waste savings that some of our customers have achieved:

- This year, Helse Bergen HF has reduced over 67 tons of waste, and has achieved major environmental and cost savings since 2023 with systematic reuse of equipment.

In the past year, Loopfront has gained more than 7,000 new users at various public and private organizations in Norway, Sweden and Germany. There are now almost 20,000 people contributing to reuse in Loopfront!
